šŸ“ˆ 23 Players To Start for Week 7

Geno Smith is a viable streamer if you're in a pinch

MOVES GLOSSARY

Hey, Movers!

I hope the charts and ā€œstartsā€ below help you make some of those difficult lineup decisions for Week 7.

As always, here are some of the terms you need to know for today’s writeup:

Implied Team Total - projected point totals for each team based on NFL odds, per Eat, Drink, and Sleep Football

Opponent FP/G Allowed - opponent fantasy points per game allowed to the position, per FantasyPoints and FantasyPros

% Rostered - Percentage of Yahoo leagues player is rostered in. I’m covering players rostered in 95% or fewer of Yahoo leagues, basically leaving out the weekly matchup-proof roster locks such as Josh Allen, Gibbs, Puka, Bowers, etc. Some of the players covered here will be obvious starts, while some will only be applicable to those who desperately need to fill a roster spot.

Note: I’ve watched every play in every game for each player I wrote about below. While I’m a data nerd at heart, I’ve found that watching the film allows me to pick up on certain sequences, momentum, and honestly, vibes, that the data can’t capture. This helps to provide a complete picture of a player’s performance rather than simply leaning on box score or even advanced stats alone.

All data in this post comes from FantasyPoints Data unless otherwise noted.

QUARTERBACKS

QUARTERBACKS
Starts

Jordan Love (94% rostered) vs. Lions: best matchup for QBs by FP/G allowed, 7th-highest implied team total. Packers’ passing game is cooking, and now Love gets an absolute smash spot.

C.J. Stroud (83% rostered) vs. Giants: 7th-best matchup for QBs, t-3rd-highest implied team total. Stroud has quietly been awesome this season and finds himself in a great spot here.

Kyler Murray (68% rostered) vs. Colts: 12th-best matchup for QBs, t-9th-highest implied team total. Kyler has looked better than I think people are giving him credit for, and he’s been making plays with his legs.

Aaron Rodgers (51% rostered) vs. Saints: 15th-best matchup for QBs, t-13th-highest implied team total. Rodgers is a fine stream this week as the Steelers’ passing attack has looked solid, especially with the emergence of Germie Bernard.

HAIL MARY: Geno Smith (15% rostered) vs. Dolphins: 8th-best matchup for QBs, t-17th-highest implied team total. There aren’t a ton of QB streaming options this week, but you could do worse than Geno, especially with Omar Cooper Jr. back in the fold.

RUNNING BACKS

RUNNING BACKS
Starts

Braelon Allen (87% rostered) vs. Dolphins: 3rd-best matchup for RBs by FP/G allowed, t-17th-highest implied team total. Allen has looked good this season and will continue to shoulder the load if Breece Hall (quad) is unable to go for Week 7.

Woody Marks (87% rostered) vs. Giants: 15th-best matchup for RBs, t-3rd-highest implied team total. Jawhar Jordan ate into Marks’ workload a bit last week, but he is now on IR. Marks will continue to lead this backfield until David Montgomery is back.

Ollie Gordon (85% rostered) vs. Jets: 13th-best matchup for RBs, t-2nd-lowest implied team total. The offensive environment is (really) bad in Miami, but Gordon has the lead back role here in a winnable matchup for RBs.

HAIL MARY: Kendre Miller (42% rostered) vs. Steelers: 15th-worst matchup for RBs, 10th-lowest implied team total. Travis Etienne remains on IR, meaning Miller will once again lead a messy committee with Kamara and Donaldson. You’re hoping he’s able to fall into the end zone here and turn in a usable week.

WIDE RECEIVERS

WIDE RECEIVERS
Starts

Jameson Williams (95% rostered) vs. Packers: 13th-best matchup for WRs by FP/G allowed, highest implied team total. JaMo is so boom or bust, but this strikes me as a potential ā€œboomā€ week as Lions-Packers features the highest game total of the week.

DK Metcalf (94% rostered) and Germie Bernard (78% rostered) vs. Saints: 16th-worst matchup for WRs, t-13th-highest implied team total. With Michael Pittman Jr. and Roman Wilson on IR, both Metcalf and Bernard remain startable following a strong Week 6 for this passing attack.

Jalen Coker (92% rostered) vs. Buccaneers: 16th-best matchup for WRs, t-9th-highest implied team total. Duh. Coker is freaking awesome and looked fantastic in his return from a quad injury.

Carnell Tate (88% rostered) vs. Browns: 12th-best matchup for WRs, 4th-lowest implied team total. The Titans’ offense is abysmal and Cam Ward just doesn’t have it, but he’s at least shown the ability to get Carnell Tate the ball. There’s not a ton of ceiling here, but the rookie is startable in a solid matchup for his position.

HAIL MARY: DeMario Douglas (37% rostered) vs. Bears: 15th-best matchup for WRs, t-13th-highest implied team total. With Romeo Doubs now on IR, New England is going to need their pass-catchers to step up. Douglas could be that guy as he’s coming off two straight 19+ fantasy point performances, and he’s honestly looked great on his opportunities.

TIGHT ENDS

TIGHT ENDS
Starts

Colston Loveland (95% rostered) vs. Patriots: 7th-worst matchup for TEs by FP/G allowed, 2nd-highest implied team total. Loveland looked great in his first game with Caleb Williams back, and I’m expecting that to continue despite the unexciting positional matchup.

Dallas Goedert (88% rostered) vs. Cowboys: 16th-best matchup for TEs, t-7th-lowest implied team total. Tanner McKee peppered Goedert with 8 targets in Week 6, and it’s encouraging for the sake of this passing game sans Hurts that McKee dropped back 45 times.

T.J. Hockenson (41% rostered) vs. Colts: t-14th-best matchup for TEs, t-9th-highest implied team total. Kyler Murray loves throwing to his TEs, and Hockenson gets a good spot here if he’s able to clear concussion protocol (I think that’s likely as he’s had two weeks to recover).

HAIL MARY: Tyler Higbee (35% rostered) vs. Raiders: t-6th-best matchup for TEs, t-3rd-highest implied team total. Higbee didn’t work out for us as a streamer last week, but he finished second behind Puka in route share (72.2%) and now the Rams are without Davante Adams.

DEFENSE / SPECIAL TEAMS

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS
Starts

Vikings DST (94% rostered) vs. Colts: t-8th-best matchup for DSTs by FP/G allowed, t-2nd-lowest opponent implied team total.

Jets DST (56% rostered) vs. Dolphins: t-3rd-best matchup for DSTs, t-2nd-lowest opponent implied team total.

Browns DST (55% rostered) vs. Titans: t-11th-best matchup for DSTs, 4th-lowest opponent implied team total.

HAIL MARY: Titans DST (35% rostered) vs. Browns: 6th-best matchup for DSTs, t-5th-lowest opponent implied team total.
