📈 13 Players To Add Before Week 7

Omar Cooper Jr. and Ja'Kobi Lane lead the way

MOVES GLOSSARY

Hey, Movers!

I’m pretty excited about the rookie WRs here - Omar Cooper Jr. and Ja’Kobi Lane. They’re my top priorities this week.

As always, here are some of the terms you need to know for today’s writeup:

TPRR - Targets Per Route Run

WOPR - (Weighted Opportunity Rating) - Calculated by combining a pass-catcher’s air yards share and target share. A metric created by Josh Hermsmeyer.

Rostership % - Percentage of Yahoo leagues player is rostered in. I write about players rostered in 40% or fewer of Yahoo leagues, AKA guys who are widely available.

Recommended FAAB - FAAB range recommendation based on FAABLab, which is an awesome crowd-sourced FAAB estimation tool. This is just a starting point - you’ll need to tweak your FAAB bids based on roster needs and leaguemate tendencies.

Note: I went back and watched every play in every game for each player I wrote about below. While I’m a data nerd at heart, I’ve found that watching the film allows me to pick up on certain sequences, momentum, and honestly, vibes, that the data can’t capture. This helps to provide a complete picture of a player’s performance rather than simply leaning on box score or even advanced stats alone.

All data in this post comes from FantasyPoints Data unless otherwise noted.

WIDE RECEIVERS

WIDE RECEIVERS
Omar Cooper Jr. (6% rostered)

Hopefully, you added Omar Cooper Jr. for free (or cheap) when I wrote about him as an add last week. Now, you’ll have to spend a bit of FAAB to get him, but I think he’s worth it.

I was excited to watch Cooper Jr. after he looked awesome on a 30-yard reception in Week 1 before getting injured. Back from IR in Week 6, he showed more of that explosiveness, going 6-103-1 on a team-high 7 targets.

He had a nice chunk play on a dig route for 19 yards in the 2nd quarter, and then got wide open for a 48-yard bomb from Geno (his deepest completion of the year) in the 3rd.

He could’ve had an even bigger day, but he had an early touchdown called back due to a PI call on fellow WR Tim Patrick. The rest of his targets were lower aDOT stuff, but it was nice to see him turn a designed screen into an 18-yard gain late in the 4th.

All in all, the 1st-round rookie looks the part and offers plenty of upside.

Recommended FAAB: 9-17%

WIDE RECEIVERS
Ja’Kobi Lane (12% rostered)

Lane didn’t have a huge game here (5-4-40), but I honestly think his lowkey performance is for the best in terms of being able to sneak him off the waiver wire for cheap.

I thought Lane looked awesome, and his numbers and upside are understated given the Tyler Huntley version of the Ravens’ offense is essentially the lite version of their Lamar Jackson-led offense. Huntley only threw for 165 yards in Week 6.

However, I saw what I needed to see from Lane. He showed incredible hands in this one, making multiple catches in traffic and bringing in a couple of difficult grabs on 3rd down to move the chains.

I thought his most impressive play was an absolutely clutch 10-yard grab on 3rd and 10 from Baltimore’s own 2-yard line. Huntley threw to the chains from the Ravens’ own end zone, and Lane was able to make the grab and hold onto the ball while taking an immediate hit from Carson Schwesinger, securing a first down.

Lane was a training camp star entering the season, and his role should continue to grow now that he’s recovered from the wrist injury that cost him Weeks 2-5. I’m really excited to see how he looks when Lamar returns to the lineup (potentially as soon as this week) given how unstoppable this offense looked to start the year.

Recommended FAAB: 5-9%

WIDE RECEIVERS
DeMario Douglas (9% rostered)

I thought DeMario Douglas played an awesome game in Week 6, but wasn’t planning on writing about him given the crowded WR room with AJ Brown healthy.

However, Romeo Doubs has now been placed on IR, meaning there is room for a Patriots pass-catcher to step up for at least the next four weeks. I like the idea of taking a shot on Douglas, who made clutch play after clutch play on his way to a 8-7-86-1 receiving line in Week 6.

Douglas was 2nd on the team in target share (25.0%) in this one, behind only AJ Brown (28.1%), and had an awesome 39-yard chunk play on a post route before unfortunately fumbling the ball away at the end of the play. He also had a sick toe tap catch to move the sticks on 3rd down in the third quarter.

Per Next Gen Stats, only Douglas, JSN, and Malik Nabers have scored at least 19 fantasy points in each of the last two weeks.

I think at this point in his career, we know that Douglas doesn’t necessarily have a huge fantasy ceiling, but I do think he is worth an add as a potential short-term beneficiary in Doubs absence given what he’s shown as of late.

Recommended FAAB: 6-8%

WIDE RECEIVERS
Antonio Williams (5% rostered)

Williams had an overall quiet game on Monday Night Football (4-3-50), but I once again thought he looked really solid on his opportunities.

He didn’t get going until the 4th quarter, but had three awesome 3rd down conversions, the first of which was a fantastic 23 yard catch and run on a comeback route.

His final 3rd down grab was an awesome catch across the middle for 17 yards, which got the Commanders in striking distance with just 30 seconds left in the game. Washington wasn’t able to finish the job, but Williams proved to be a reliable target during their 4th quarter comeback effort.

More relevant to Williams’ outlook, however, is that Terry McLaurin tore his patellar tendon and is out for the season. Williams should see more opportunities as a result.

Recommended FAAB: 6-8%

WIDE RECEIVERS
Christian Kirk (6% rostered)

Mike Evans is battling achilles tendinitis and is uncertain for Week 7. The 49ers have a bye in Week 8, so it’s possible SF chooses to hold Evans out in order to get him right for Week 9.

Meanwhile, Christian Kirk had his 21-day practice window opened on Thursday and was able to log three limited practices, meaning he is trending towards a potential Week 7 return.

He is a dusty add off the waiver wire and I don’t know what he has left in the tank, but San Francisco has been battered by injury at the position and needs healthy bodies. This elite offensive environment and passing attack could be enough to elevate Kirk to at least a week of fantasy relevance.

Recommended FAAB: 4-6%

WIDE RECEIVERS
Travis Hunter (7% rostered)

I’m honestly unsure if I’m going to catch flak for this call, as Travis Hunter is such a polarizing player in the fantasy space. However, I’m willing to say it - I think he’s worth stashing. He looked freaking awesome as a receiver in Week 6.

Which brings me to my next point. We know the talent has never been the issue, it’s just been his offensive snaps. He played just 9 snaps and ran only 7 routes in Week 6, and those were SEASON-HIGHS as he’s mostly been a cornerback for the Jags in 2026. But he was able to turn those limited looks into a 4-4-59-1 performance.

More importantly, though, I think he’s worth stashing with the potential that his role could grow, especially as Jacksonville enters its bye in Week 7. I thought this social media post after the game from NFL on Prime Insider James Palmer was interesting:

“The conversations I had with the Jags at the start of the season ... the usage and the role of Travis Hunter is going to be very different at the end of the year compared to the early part of the season. It feels like we are starting to see the progression they're predicting.”

On top of that, Brian Thomas Jr. was benched for the second half of the game after he followed a brutal drop in the first quarter with a poor attempt at a slightly less catchable ball before halftime. Is he even going to be on the team after the bye week?

Regardless of whether BTJ gets traded or not, I highly doubt he is going to be playing any sort of prominent role in this offense, which opens up the door for Hunter to earn some more opportunities as a receiver.

He’s merely a stash and I’m not promising anything here, but man, he looked freaking awesome on Sunday. He would be really fun to roster if he’s able to carve out a more substantial role on what is already a great offense.

Recommended FAAB: 3-6%

RUNNING BACKS

RUNNING BACKS
Kendre Miller (34% rostered)

Travis Etienne remains on IR for at least one more week before the Saints’ Week 8 bye, meaning Miller should get another crack at lead back duties in Week 7.

Miller had just 70 scoreless rushing yards on 20 attempts, but did get two (unsuccessful) rushing attempts from the 2-yard line before the half and was later tackled at the 1-yard line in the 3rd quarter. His upside remains capped as Alvin Kamara and CJ Donaldson continue to mix in.

Regardless, he saw 22 opportunities (his 2 catches went for 0 yards) in Week 6, and that type of volume is tough to come by off the waiver wire.

Recommended FAAB: 4-8%

RUNNING BACKS
Jonah Coleman (28% rostered)

Among 38 qualifying RBs, J.K. Dobbins ranks 36th in success rate (38.3%), and 31st in yards per carry (3.33) through six weeks.

Given Dobbins’ ineffectiveness so far this season, it’s entirely possible that rookie Jonah Coleman (ankle), who is eligible to return from IR this week, is able to steal some of his early-down work. Coleman looked solid in the one game we got to watch him against Jacksonville in Week 2.

Recommended FAAB: 4-6%

RUNNING BACKS
Roschon Johnson (5% rostered)

In Week 6, Johnson saw decent usage (44.8% carry share, 6.1% target share) behind D’Andre Swift with Kyle Monangai missing a second straight game with turf toe.

If Monangai is unable to play in Week 7, Johnson has some value as the complement to D’Andre Swift, I just wouldn’t expect much here. He strikes me as a pretty desperate flex play.

Recommended FAAB: 3-5%

TIGHT ENDS

TIGHT ENDS
T.J. Hockenson (32% rostered)

Kyler Murray absolutely peppers his TEs with targets, so much so that Gavin Batholomew finished 2nd on the team in target share (20%) behind only Justin Jefferson after Hockenson left their Week 5 game with a concussion.

On the season, Kyler ranks 6th among 33 qualifying QBs in TE target percentage (26.7%), per TruMedia.

Given that with the bye, Hockenson has had two weeks to recover from his concussion, I’d imagine he’s back for Week 7.

Recommended FAAB: 4-7%

TIGHT ENDS
Terrance Ferguson (13% rostered)

Davante Adams is out 6-10 weeks with a hamstring injury, opening the door for a pass-catcher to emerge in LA.

My money is on Ferguson, who was described by beat reporters this summer as the Rams’ de facto WR3. He’s on IR right now and isn’t eligible to return until Week 8, but he is absolutely worth the stash. He looked awesome in his 9-6-54-1 performance in Week 2.

Ferguson should see plenty of opportunities with Adams out, especially considering the Rams already lead the league in 13 personnel usage (31.0%, per TruMedia).

Recommended FAAB: 4-7%

TIGHT ENDS
Michael Mayer (8% rostered)

Mayer had just 2 receiving yards on 1 target in Week 5, but bounced back in a big way here in Week 6, turning in a 9-7-95 stat line. He looks like a legit TE1 out there.

I think Mayer’s Week 6 performance is closer to the usage we can expect for him moving forward, as 1) he’s legitimately very good 2) the Raiders don’t have a strong WR room and 3) Las Vegas ranks 2nd in the league 12 personnel usage (44.6%).

Recommended FAAB: 4-6%

TIGHT ENDS
Chig Okonkwo (16% rostered)

Okonkwo put up a season-high 13.9 fantasy points on MNF, going 7-69 on a team-high 7 targets. Per Next Gen Stats, that was Chig’s most catches and yards in a game since late in the 2024 season.

I’m not sure what the ceiling is here for Chig, but with Terry McLaurin out for the season, his target outlook has certainly improved. He’s worth an add for TE-needy teams.

Recommended FAAB: 4-6%
